Massage can benefit everyone, from the weekend
warrior to the stressedout corporate executive. Massage not
only reduces stress and relaxes muscles, it is also a wonderful
way to unwind and let go of the responsibilities requiring attention
in our daily lives. In addition to reducing levels of stress, anxiety
and depression, massage can lower blood pressure, improve skin tone,
and enhance range of motion. Massage may also boost the function
of the organs by stimulating the lymph and circulatory system and
helping the body to improve detoxification pathways.
Often, adhesions develop where the muscle and fascia
have adhered to one another, thus limiting our range of motion and
causing pain. Massage is an excellent tool to help break-up these
adhesions, whether they are from a past injury or a recent surgery.
In fact, people who receive massage regularly prior to surgery report
less pain and faster healing following surgery. The
deep, persistent nature of massage often leaves the
client feeling fatigued but pleasantly rejuvinated
